Terrible design flaws

Unfortunately there is no way to pull the door closed. The old style locks were able to be pulled to very easily. With these the door handle and the way to close it are right on top of each other. It's such a small handle (as you can see in the photo that is the depth of it and my fingers barely got in it). Because of the way the door swings inward the pressure from the handle and door snapped my nail in two. I'm guessing when they designed this they didn't consult women. My husband and I are so disappointed. We waited for the trek to come out as we were avid supporters of RV lock and loved the old models. My husband has now been cursing this lock every day as he can't figure out how to lock it from inside and if it's locked to begin with without shining a flashlight on it. There's no red latch to let you know from a far. We wanted to return it but when we reached out to customer service they instead told us to order the screen pull bar. So there goes another $60 all to find out it won't work with morryde steps. I'm so disappointed and want nothing more than to return this unit and exchange it for the V4, unfortunately I would have to pay MORE money in return shipping.

Really nice

Easy to install and love all the features. Did have to call support to help me with the Bluetooth part. Love the part of no batteries to replace. Had to on our old trailer and usually ended up dropping one of the screws and they’re tiny and then the hunt is on. Highly recommend getting one well worth the money and convenience.

Like the layout and functionality - no more carrying keys around!

I like the 10-digit keypad, backlit buttons, and the one-button lock.
Installation was very simple. Everything lined up and went right into place without needing any adjustments to the lock or the door.
Only had it a few weeks so far so I don't have any feedback on long term use.

My only issue is the outside handle doesn't completely sit flush with the lock frame. It is a little loose and that results in a rattle noise due to the slight movement. RVLock has been responsive to my inquiries. They are saying it might be due to a little warp in the door. There is a little warp in the center of my door but I'm not sure if I understand how that affects the small area where the lock is. If that is the cause of the rattle, this would be an area of improvement as the inexpensive original lock didn't rattle in the same door. Maybe a little bit of OCD coming out in me.

Top 3 upgrades we've done to our RV!

The RV Lock Trek model is awesome! Super easy install. I left the stock strike plate in place which was identical to one of the ones it came with so I just left it. It comes with a thinner one like stock, and a taller/thicker one if you needed to space the strike plate further away from the door frame. So far, here are my initial thoughts.
Pros:
No more worrying if someone has my key since the stock locks are basically “generic”.
The overall feel of it is heavy and it feels well made and beefy.
love that it’s rechargeable from inside or outside and supposedly lasts 3-6 months on a single charge.
Keys light up and you just type the code and it unlocks at the last digit. To lock, you only have to hit the lock button.
There is an independent button for each digit, so there are way more combinations than if one button is two digits.
Manual and push button lock/unlock on the inside.
FOBs seem really nice. I stuck one to the wall next to the master bed so I can easily double check it’s locked while in bed. I feel like we’ll use the keypad 99% of the time.
It has physical volume buttons for the speaker volume. I like the confirmation tones and when you program it, it talks to you and tells you what to do.
The latch and deadbolt are tied together so you are only locking/unlocking one thing vs stock they are separate.
Cons:
When you close the door and it latches, the outter handle makes a clanking/pinging noise. Not a huge deal bit it sounds a bit rattly.
If the door is in the locked state, the latch/deadbolt WILL NOT push in even when closing the door. In other words if the door is open and you accidentally hit lock, then try and close the door, the latch will slam into the strike plate and the door can’t close. So just keep that in mind. I can see my kids messing with it and doing this lol.

Top of the line upgrade for your RV!

We’ve now owned about 5/6 different models of RVLock and have always been pleased with our purchase. The new trek keyless handle is no exception. Very easy to use and adds a nice touch to your Rv. They have great customer service, anytime we have had a question.
